Modern Fertility Test

I got to do something so exciting recently with a brand that i found online through research and I couldn’t wait to talk and share with you guys what i learned! Modern fertility is a company that allows you take a fertility hormone test in the comfort of your own home!

How cool is that? When i found modern fertility and looked into the company i knew right away i wanted to work with them and i was so excited that they agreed!

Having the option to take a hormone test at home is so incredible and its only $159 through their site. The steps are so easy and ill go through those later in the post but first i wanted to talk about who this test is for.

And thats EVERYONE! Seriously no joke every one of us women have access to this test which gives us so much power and knowledge into our bodies. If you are young and are curious and wondering about your fertility (and considering freezing your eggs for the future), if your newly married not wanting to have kids yet but want to know about your egg health for the future and planning, If your like me two kids in and wanting another but feel like your body is off and want some insight into what might be going on this test is for you!

Yes you can go to your obgyn to get these same tests done. but usually its not that easy. A fertility hormone test is usually the first step you take when it comes to a fertility struggle to give some insight into whats going on but thats after trying for a year. And if you are thinking about freezing your eggs you’ll have to go see a specialist. Either way it costs a lot of money and most insurance companies don’t cover fertility testing and it can cost upward of $1500 and thats not including office visits and the follow up visits.

Modern fertilities test only costs $159 and you can use your fha/hsa toward the cost!!

Now i want to tell you about the test. I got my test sent to me and it took 7 days to get it in the mail from the day i got an email saying it was shipped and on its way. You have to take your test on the 3rd day of your period so they can measure certain hormone levels correctly. I got my test in the mail on day 2 of my period so it was perfect timing!

I’m not going to lie i was nervous to take the blood test, its a small prick in your finger, but I’m a baby when it comes to needles etc and i have a hard time thinking about pricking myself in the finger haha. But they made it so much easier for me with all their tips they offer. I laid everything that was included in the package out on the table infront of me and went over the directions and had it all set up so i knew exactly what goes where and when and it made me feel much better going into the experience. 

I washed my hands with warm water for a minute and rubbed them to make sure the blood was flowing and warm. And i really think this helped a lot not going to lie! They give you 3 little objects that prick your finger for you which is so cool because i definitely needed more than one! But when i finally pricked my finger it was no big deal of course and i  was able to fill both of my cards that the lab provided easily and put  band aid on my finger. You have to follow the packaging directions for shipping your tests back out and they give you a prepaid package so you can pop it in the mail box same day and ship it back out to the labs for testing! 

It took about 10 days from shipping my blood test out to getting my results. They release their results on Tuesdays and I received my results that afternoon. I was nervous to open the page but honestly the information they give you is so amazing they literally explain everything and lay it all out for you so you can understand what they tested, why they tested it and what your results could mean for you. Which i really appreciated because i usually don’t even know what to ask when it comes to test results i figure the doctor will tell me what i need to know  but then i still find myself googling into the wee hours of the morning lol 

They also hold a webinar every wednesday with a reproductive nurse who goes over the test and results and fills you with even more knowledge!!

All my results came back normal which was so great to hear we do have an appointment sent for a month from now with a fertility doctor and I’m not going to lie I’m going into it feeling so much better and ready to talk. Im going to bring my test results with me and i feel empowered knowing that i will be able to carry on a conversation with my doctor because i know so much more about my own body and whats going on with it. 

If any of you are curious about whats going on with your fertility, your  thinking about trying to conceive soon, you already have one or two babies and its not as easy as it was the first time or you want to consider freezing your eggs one day this is definitely a test to check out.
